Terms of Use — Narratologist

1. General

Welcome to The Narratologist (narratologist.io), operated by Oz Kabala (“the Site,” “we,” “The Narratologist”). The Site is a space for deep narrative thinking — examining human narratives and perceptions, deconstructing them, and reassembling them into more accurate versions. The Site includes articles, poetry, workshops, lectures, a digital store, and related services.

By accessing or using the Site — including browsing, registering, purchasing, or consuming content — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use in full. If you do not agree, please refrain from using the Site.

We reserve the right to update, modify, or amend these terms at any time at our sole discretion. Continued use of the Site after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The date of the most recent update appears at the top of this page.

2. Copyright & Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including articles, poetry, text, graphic design, logos, trademarks, original images, illustrations, source code, site structure, and arrangement of information — is protected by copyright and belongs to Oz Kabala and/or The Narratologist, unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Permitted use: Personal reading; sharing a direct link on social media; brief quotation (up to 3 sentences) for criticism, review, or research — with full credit to Oz Kabala and The Narratologist, including a hyperlink to the original page.
Prohibited use: Full or partial reproduction without prior written consent; commercial use of any kind; framing, embedding, or any presentation that misrepresents ownership; systematic copying for competing databases; use of content to train AI models without written permission.

The name “The Narratologist,” the logo, and associated brand marks are trademarks of Oz Kabala. Do not use them without prior written permission.

3. Site Usage

Use of the Site is permitted for personal, non-commercial purposes only, unless otherwise agreed in writing. When using the Site, you agree not to:

Violate any applicable law or regulation.
Operate bots, scrapers, data-mining tools, or any automated means to collect or extract content — except recognized search engine crawlers acting in accordance with our robots.txt.
Attempt to breach site systems, disrupt operations, harm servers, or interfere with the experience of other users.
Impersonate any person or entity.
Circumvent, remove, or tamper with technical protection measures, including content gating and payment mechanisms.

4. The Guild & Registration

Some content on the Site is restricted to registered users (“Guild members”). Registration is free and requires a valid email address.

Registration includes consent to receive a periodic newsletter via Beehiiv. Registration uses double opt-in — you will need to confirm your subscription via a link sent to your email.
You may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email. Unsubscribing from the newsletter does not cancel your Guild membership.
We reserve the right to revoke access for any user who violates these terms, without prior notice, at our sole discretion.
You are responsible for safeguarding your access credentials and for all activity conducted through them.

5. Content Submissions

You may submit articles for publication on the Site, in accordance with the guidelines on the Guild page. Submitting an article constitutes a declaration that the content is original and does not infringe on any third-party rights, including copyright, privacy, or any other right.

The editorial team reserves the right to edit, shorten, modify headlines, adjust formatting, or decline to publish submitted content — at its sole discretion and without obligation to provide reasons. Publication on the Site does not grant the submitter intellectual property rights over the final published version.

6. Digital Purchases

The Site offers digital purchases via Lemon Squeezy, including:

Single article: Access to one locked article for $3.
Monthly subscription: Full access to all locked content for $6/month.

Purchases are processed through Lemon Squeezy’s secure payment interface. Upon completion, you receive immediate access to the purchased content. Payment details are stored and processed exclusively by Lemon Squeezy and are not held on our servers.

The Site may offer promotional periods (such as a free trial without requiring a credit card) as published from time to time. At the end of any promotional period, no charges will be made automatically — continuing access requires a voluntary paid subscription.

7. Cancellation Policy

Monthly subscription: You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for the remainder of a paid period. Access to locked content is maintained until the end of the paid period.
Single article: As digital content available for immediate consumption, single-article purchases are non-refundable once accessed. In exceptional cases, please contact us and we will review your request.

8. AI Usage Disclosure

Some content on the Site may be enriched, expanded, or processed with the assistance of artificial intelligence (AI) tools. All content undergoes editing, review, and final approval by the editorial team (Oz Kabala) before publication.

AI tools are used to enhance content quality and do not replace human editorial judgment.
Responsibility for all published content rests with The Narratologist, regardless of any technological tools used in the creation process.
Content produced with AI assistance should not be construed as professional advice of any kind.

9. Third-Party Content

The Site may contain links to external websites (such as YouTube, Lemon Squeezy, Beehiiv, and others). We are not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy, or privacy practices. Access to third-party services is at your own risk, and we recommend reviewing their respective terms of use.

10. Limitation of Liability

All content on the Site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The content reflects personal opinions, insights, and narrative thinking, and does not constitute professional, legal, psychological, medical, or business advice.

We are not liable for any direct, indirect, consequential, special, or incidental damages arising from the use of or reliance on site content.
We do not guarantee that the Site will operate continuously, securely, or without errors or interruptions.
We are not responsible for loss of data or access resulting from technical failures, system updates, or events beyond our control.
In any event, our total liability shall not exceed the amount you actually paid us in the 12 months preceding the alleged event.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed exclusively by the laws of the State of Israel. Exclusive jurisdiction for any dispute arising from these terms is vested in the competent courts in the Tel Aviv-Jaffa district.
